Vanilla custard with almond praline

This is a quick and easy recipe, ideal for those moments when we are short of time.

Serves 4

30g butter
1/2 cup (100g) sugar
50g almonds, chopped
1 box mixture to prepare vanilla custard (4 servings)
1 tablespoon Grand Marnier (orange liqueur)

To make praline, place butter in a saucepan and cook over a low heat until it melts.

Stir in sugar and cook until sugar gets golden.
Add chopped almonds and move saucepan until almonds are evenly distributed in the toffee.

Pour mixture over greased marble and allow to harden.
Break with a knife until toffee resembles coarse bread crumbs.
Prepare vanilla custard following instructions in the packet.

Once ready, stir in orange liqueur and cool slightly.
Divide the custard between 4 individual serving bowls or glasses and refrigerate.
Serve sprinkled with almond praline.
