Makes: 3 dozen
100g butter, at room temperature
1 cup (200g) raw sugar
3 small bars of chocolate
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons milk
2 cups (240g) flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
pinch of salt
1/4 cup (65ml) milk
Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
Beat in egg.
Dissolve chocolate and cocoa powder in 2 tablespoons of milk, over a low heat.
Add it to the mixture.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Fold into mixture, alternately with the remaining milk.
Mix to form a soft dough.
Drop teaspoons of mixture onto greased baking sheets, some cm from one another. Bake in a moderate oven for 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool on wire racks.
